2008 season • Press ReleasePiano Duo Headline First OBF Concert at SheddJune 14, 2008
Ya Fei Chuang is one half of the June 29 duo recital.
Robert Levin is no stranger to patrons of the Oregon Bach Festival, who have reveled in his eloquent insights into classical music, and marveled at his sensitive and energetic piano performances. Here we have an evening with Levin and his equally talented wife, Ya-Fei Chuang, performing a delicious assortment of keyboard works on the Fazioli pianos: two fugues from Bach’s The Art of Fugue, BWV 1080; Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit; Lutoslawski’s Variations on a Theme by Paganini; and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Op. 45. Located in The Shedd, Jaqua Hall's warm acoustics will resound with the contrasting styles of this talented team, while oversize video screens give you a close-up view of their dazzling technique. |
