Anton ArmstrongConductor
Armstrong is a graduate of St. Olaf College and earned a Master of Music degree at the University of Illinois and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Chorus America, and the International Federation for Choral Music. He is the editor of a choral series for Earthsongs Publications and coeditor of the revised St. Olaf Choral Series for Augsburg Fortress Publishers. Armstrong is widely recognized for his work in the area of youth and children's choral music. He has served on the summer faculty of the American Boychoir School, Princeton, New Jersey and currently is president of the National Choristers Guild. He is an active guest conductor and lecturer throughout North America, Europe, Scandinavia, Korea, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. He has conducted ensembles and appeared before regional and national gatherings of the American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, Choristers Guild, American Guild of Organists, and Associated Lutheran Church Musicians. In June 1998, he began his tenure as conductor of the OBF Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy. |
