Florian Schmitt-BohnVocal Soloist
Schmitt-Bohn is active both as a soloist and as a freelance singer in professional choirs. He has appeared with the London Philharmonic Choir and the Saint Paul's Chorus, under conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniele Gatti and Kurt Masur. In Stuttgart he is a member of the Gächinger Kantorei under Helmuth Rilling. He made his operatic debut as Papageno in Mozart's Magic Flute in 2004. He regularly appears in recitals and concerts, singing music from Monteverdi to John Cage. Most recently he sang solo bass in performances of J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio in Mainz, Germany and St. Matthew Passion in Mannheim. He has been on concert tours to France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Spain, Hungary, Austria, Russia, South Africa, Japan, Korea, Venezuela, Peru, Canada, and the U.S. This is his first appearance with the Oregon Bach Festival. |
