Lothar OdiniusVocal Soloist
As a performer of baroque and classical repertoire, Odinius has frequently worked with conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, with whom he sang Bach's St. Matthew Passion in Madrid and Turin and St. John Passion in Toronto. He has also worked with Andreas Schiff, Adam Fischer, Philippe Herreweghe, Bruno Weil, Neville Marriner, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Carl St. Clair, Franz Welser-Möst and Morten Schuldt-Jensen. In addition to Lieder recitals and concerts he has appeared in Schubert's Magic Harp, in the new production of the Magic Flute at the Opera in Bonn, and in performances of Bach's St. John Passion and Mendelssohn's Elijah. He was heard as Ferrando (Così fan tutte) in Salzburg, as Arbace (Idomeneo) in Mannheim, the title role in Schubert's Alfonso und Estrella in Zurich, and as Lindbergh in the Lindenbergh Flight at the Royal Opera Copenhagen. He sang with Emmanuelle Haim in Handel's Israel in Egypt at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Dixit Dominius on a European tour in December, 2007. As a Lied singer he has given recitals at the Schubertiade Feldkirch, the WDR Köln, as well as in venues in Paris, Köln, Dortmund, Lindau am Bodensee, Basel, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Hamburg, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and the International Beethovenfest Bonn. |
